ADORNit Guest Designer: More Rainy Days & Sunshine

My guest designer time at ADORNit is coming to a close... so here's my final project, this time featuring some of the softer hues of the Rainy Days & Sunshine collection.

I loved the versatility of the Rainy Days & Sunshine collection! For this layout, I began with solid white cardstock and created an interesting background of subtle color using inks and masks from my stash.

I then layered on various sizes and patterns of softer-toned Rainy Days & Sunshine paper, and topped that with a foam square-mounted black and white photo.

I tucked a wood tag shape behind the photo and added a few stickers and a scalloped border from the "Sunshine Together" sticker set.

The "Smiles & Laughter" piece is cut from the "Raining Cut Apart" patterned paper. I finished the layout with a wooden title piece and some scattered wooden flower shapes.

ADORNit Guest Designer: Rainy Days & Sunshine

It's Day 3 today on the ADORNit blog!
This time I'm featuring the Rainy Days & Sunshine collection.

I chose some bright, happy primary colors from the Rainy Days & Sunshine collection to use for this layout of my daughter at a playground. This color combination, while out of my comfort zone, was calling out to be used with these photos!

I kept this design quite simple and very light on the layers. The adorable yellow polkadot background paper is the backside of the "Sunshine & Raindrops" patterned paper. I used some modeling paste with a star stencil for some subtle detail and texture.

The flower layers are punched from the "Jump Puddles Word" patterned paper and are embellished with threaded buttons from my stash.

The title and pennant embellishments, adhered with foam squares, are stickers from the "Rain Rain" and "Sunshine Together" sticker sets.

I finished the layout off with a border sticker strip from the "Rain Rain" set and a strip of the red with white dots section of the "Drip Drop" patterned paper.

ADORNit Guest Designer: More Forever Family + GIVEAWAY!

It's Day 2 of guest designing on the ADORNit blog, and here is what I'm sharing today using the Forever Family collection:
(scroll down for the giveaway)

When I saw the "Together is the Best Place to Be" laser die cut from the Family Vignette set, I was immediately inspired to use it as the focal point on a card. This card came together really quickly- a few strips of the reverse sides of the "Family Wordplay" and "Family Tickertape" patterned paper and a border sticker from the "Kindred" sticker set make up the base of the card.

I added 2 decorative corners from the "You, Me, Us" sticker set, mounted the focal point lasercut with foam squares, and tied a big white bow using ribbon from my stash.

I topped it all off with a cute little wood heart from the Family wood shapes set, which I detailed with a white liquid pearl pen. A simple but lovely card for my sweetie!

ADORNit Guest Designer: Forever Family

Hi blog friends :)
I'm excited to share that I was invited to guest design for ADORNit! Over the next few days, the projects that I created will be featured on their blog.

Here's the first layout, using the Forever Family collection.

I really enjoyed the warm, rich color combination in the Family Forever collection and love how it compliments these photos of my mom with my little girl.  I softened up the reverse side of the "Family Wordplay" patterned paper with some gesso before adhering the photos with foam squares.

I started my main embellishment cluster by layering some Family Vignette and Family Reflection laser die cuts, and then added some die-cut flowers cut from the reverse side of the "Family Tickertape" paper.

I placed a few "You, Me, Us" stickers here and there for added interest.

My favorite items on this layout are the wonderful Family wood shapes and words!

My Creative Scrapbook and Creative Scrappers 269

My Creative Scrapbook kit club has teamed up with Creative Scrappers this month.
You know what that means... lots of inspiration... and a wonderful prize!

The MCS designers played along with Creative Scrappers Sketch #269 which was revealed today.
Here's my take on it:

This layout features beautiful Kaisercraft Kaleidoscope collection papers along with lots of Prima goodies.

And, guess what...

...this is the My Creative Scrapbook June Limited Edition kit!
Yes, a BIG sneak peek for you of the kit, over 10 days before the actual kit reveal.
How fun is that?!

(Now that you've gotten a sneak peek of the upcoming Limited Edition kit and undoubtedly want to receive one for yourself, you might want to hurry over to MyCreativeScrapbook.com to reserve one.)

To incorporate the circles from the sketch, I used a gatorade bottle cap with some acrylic paint (in lavender to coordinate with my daughter's dress) to stamp some circles onto the background paper (actually, I let Allison do that stamping for me- she was thrilled).

For the stars, I used a star mask with modeling paste, but the stars didn't photograph well (they're there, I promise).

I also used a couple Prima stamps (honeycomb and script) here and there on the background with some shades of purple ink.

The flowers are all from Prima's Stationer's Desk line.

I tucked in some Prima- Ingvild Bolme resign pieces (baroque frames) in the lower left and upper right of the page. I also added some corrugated cardboard pieces (which I let Allison paint for me with gesso) for some added texture.

Don't forget to play along with Creative Scrappers Sketch 267 and/or Sketch 268 by May 31st at Midnight ADT... My Creative Scrapbook is providing the prize!
(See the Creative Scrappers blog for contest details.)
