More Little Yellow Bicycle Winterings

Hi everyone! I have another Winterings collection layout to share today thanks to a wonderful guest designing opportunity given to me by Little Yellow Bicycle.

If you'd like to take a peek at the Winterings layout that I posted previously, you can find it along with details of an awesome sketch challenge opportunity, here.

To say I'm totally excited to be featured on the Little Yellow Bicycle blog today with their gorgeous Winterings collection is most definitely an understatement!

The photos on this layout are not the best quality, I know, but I've been working on reminding myself that it's the recording of special moments that matters most...

What I love about these photos, and the reason why I really wanted to scrap them, is my sweet little girl standing against the glass front door, bedhead and all, with her face pressed against the glass and taking in the sights and sounds of winter with a perfect blanket of fresh snow.

Imagine how thrilled I was to find these exact sentiments included in the Fresh Verse cardstock stickers. What do you think of the awesome clear cut piece and vellum tape strip included here?

I tucked several pieces of the paper crafting kit here and there, adhering some with foam tape for added dimension. The above cluster also includes one of the beautiful layered burlap stickers.

That lovely wintry pinecone in the above cluster is part of the Winterings chipboard shapes set- a perfect little piece to represent the hundreds of pinecones that our huge spruce tree continually dropped.

If you haven't had a chance to play with Winterings yet, consider checking it out- the photos do not do it justice and it's even more gorgeous in person.

Thank you Liz and Little Yellow Bicycle for the super fun opportunity!

House update: A LOT of progress has been made in the past week! We have a driveway and walkway. Our first floor ceramic tiling is done. All of the countertops are in. Today they were working on installing the carpet on the second floor.  Just about all that's left are the kitchen appliances, the bathroom fixtures, and some repair work here and there. Fingers are crossed for an on-time closing on Friday!

My Creative Sketches January Sketch Challenge

It's time for the January sketch challenge at My Creative Sketches! Here's my take on the sketch (please excuse the poor quality photos taken inside our hotel room).

I used Little Yellow Bicycle's beautiful Winterings collection. It's such a pretty winter range- I also used it for another layout that I'll be sharing sometime next week.

I've been wanting to scrap this photo for quite some time now- that Elmo peeking out just cracks me up! I hope she enjoys this layout someday lol!

Here's the January sketch:

and WOW!! Have a look at the prize!

I know, right?! Pam puts together the most generous prize packages. Seriously. I can't think of any other place that I've seen anything even remotely close to the quality of this prize for a sketch challenge.

Did you know that the winner is chosen by random draw? Find the details here.

Ruby Rock-It Birthday Cards

I'm up on the Ruby Rock-It blog today with a pair of birthday cards featuring the gorgeous Cook line. I used some of my favorite Ruby Rock-It embellishments on these- the Cook florals.

I have a supply list up on the Ruby Rock-It blog if you'd like to check it out.

I also wanted to show you this set of snowflakes that I made with some kraft cardstock and Ruby Rock-It's lovely China Blue line.  The DT girls each made a set of 4 to adorn the booth at Winter CHA. We all made similar snowflakes but incorporated our own unique touches. I wasn't at CHA to see the booth but I imagine it looked lovely!

My Creative Scrapbook January Creative Kit

The January Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook is one of my most favorite Creative Kits yet.  Featuring the absolutely adorable blue, green, and yellow Family Ties collection from Pebbles, this kit was a joy to work.

Here's what I made with the kit:

Here's a photo of the kit:

A 6-month membership to the Creative Kit is just $28.99 + shipping per month.  Quite a fantastic deal if you ask me! This is a really great time to join... you'll be all set to receive the latest and greatest from Winter CHA!

House update: We took another peek today... it's only been 2 days since we last looked, but we're just so anxious.  We found that the kitchen cabinets have been installed, and it looks like the exterior painting is done. Exciting!

My Creative Scrapbook January Main Kit

It's reveal time at My Creative Scrapbook kit club, and let me just tell you, if this month's kit lineup is any indication of what's to come for the rest of 2013... we are in for a really fantastic year!

The January Main Kit features a beautiful combination of Teresa Collins Now & Then and Carta Bella Traditions complimented by lovely ribbons and Prima flowers.

Here's what I created with the kit:

If you're wondering, yes, I am still living/crafting away in the hotel room.  I'm glad to say though that I think we're in the final stretch... it's been 7 weeks in the temporary housing, with an estimated three and a half weeks to go. Hopefully, our home builder won't push the date back yet again.

Here's a photo of the January Main Kit:

I hope you'll take a few moments to check out the My Creative Scrapbook design team gallery which is loaded with an enormous amount of beautiful layout, card, and project samples using the kits.  You can also find lots of inspiration on the My Creative Scrapbook blog and facebook page.

Come back tomorrow, please, as I'll have my January Creative Kit work up :)

A RRBF Birthday Layout

I'm up on the Ruby Rock-It Bella! Fundamentals blog today to contribute to their celebration-themed inspiration in the form of a birthday layout.

These photos were taken at my daughter's 2nd birthday party last February. I was so thrilled to find some perfectly coordinating goodies this week in my Ruby Rock-It Bella! Fundamentals stash so that I could finally scrap them.

Here's a closeup of some of the embellishments that I used to add interest to my layout. They come pre-glittered, and, the glitter does not fall off... love that!

I bent the wings of the butterfly up slightly to add some dimension and sense of life to the page.

Here's another little cluster of embellishments partially tucked in behind the photos.
